Vitaly Chernetsky is a Professor at the University of Kansas and President of the Shevchenko Scientific Society in the USA.
He is writing articles on innovative Ukrainian literature and film past and present; Odesa's Ukrainian contexts; translation of Ukrainian literature. He is also writing a book on Ukrainian literature and cinema between the global and the local (near completion, forthcoming soon), and a book on Slavic/East European writers and experiences of displacement (considering Ukrainian literature comparatively within the region)
