Dr Nataliya Kibita is an academic visitor at the Oxford School of Global and Area Studies and is part of the Ukrainian History Global Initiative (UHGI).
UHGI seeks a new empirical and conceptual understanding, using an innovative approach across disciplines and application of new technologies to write history today. The initiative seeks to generate and promote the knowledge that helps to address such fundamental questions as: who Ukrainians are? How was the Ukrainian nation possible?
Nataliya is currently working on capitalism and Soviet-style modernisation in Ukraine at the beginning of the 20th century and her future research will examine the relationship between property rights, inequality and legitimacy in Ukraine.
