Dr Alexander Morrison is a Fellow and Tutor in History at New College and the History Faculty at the University of Oxford.
He works on the history of the Russian Empire, including the role of Ukrainians across its territories. He has written in the past about the role of Ukrainian peasant settlers in Siberia and Central Asia and is now planning a book on Russian colonialism which will include an account of wars against the Ottoman Empire in southern Ukraine.
